EECU Awards Forward Thinking Grant

EECU - A Community Credit Union is pleased to announce that their quarterly Forward Thinking Partnership Program grant has been awarded to the “Break the Grey” program of Jackson. “Break the Grey” (named after the desire to break the cycle of hopelessness, indecision and uncertainty) is a community-wide program delivered to area students via school assemblies by a cutting-edge team led by Bill Ballenger. The message is an in-depth discussion regarding the many widespread challenges and consequences facing young people today such as drugs, alcohol, casual sex and suicide. On the final night of the program, “Break the Grey” hosts a free concert open to students at all schools in Jackson County. The school assemblies and concert are free to the schools and community, and are set-up as professional venues complete with drama teams, state-of-the-art sound, lighting and staging to maximize the impact of the positive message.

“Break the Grey” received $1,500.00 from EECU to help fund the program in Jackson County. All area students and anyone from the community are welcome to attend the events and will benefit from the grant.
