More than 10 employees and their families from EECU – A Community Credit Union participated in the annual Jackson March of Dimes “March for Babies” event on May 1 to raise funds for and support the program, which gives hope to the more than half a million babies born too soon each year. Staff wore their custom-made EECU orange and silver “March for Babies” t-shirts and raised over $900.00 for the event, including a $150.00 donation from the credit union. The group raised funds in a variety of creative ways throughout April, including: employee dress down days, bake sales, popcorn day, online donations, donation jars in all EECU branches, selling March of Dimes decals and much more!
“EECU is proud to support such an important and worthy cause,” said Abbey Caples, EECU employee and coordinator of the March of Dimes effort. “The March of Dimes is such an amazing organization and event and their mission is to educate to avoid premature births and birth defects. I am so proud EECU was able to create a team and raise over $900.00 in one month.”
