Forward Thinking Grant Awarded!

Michigan Community Credit Union is pleased to announce that our quarterly Forward Thinking Partnership Program grant has been awarded to the Hillsdale County Intermediate School District and Right Directions Coaching. The Hillsdale County Intermediate School District received $1,127.00 to help fund the equipment needed for the project “Front Row Hearing for All Students.” Because hearing has a large value in learning, a classroom sound system will be installed and allow every student to have “front row hearing.” This sound system will provide a means through which the instructor’s sounds and words are heard with intelligibility by all children in the classroom, especially those with learning challenges. Right Directions Coaching received $1,000.00 to help fund their cause, “Launch to Independence – Financial Literacy for Young Adults ages 15-21.” These funds will help 50 participants in Jackson County attend 2 classes, “Financial Literacy” and “Hire Me!” as they prepare to be self-sufficient. This program is targeted toward at-risk youth, and both programs provide the participants with knowledge and skills to be more prepared to make solid financial decisions and more confident as they seek employment.
