When looking for coupons, don't just stop with the Sunday morning paper, ask friends for any inserts that they aren't planning on using. Subscribe to a few weekend papers (as long as they aren't too expensive) to get more coupons at your door.
Don't forget about online resources. Lots of websites have coupons online or you can subscribe to emails for weekly specials and coupons coming right to your inbox. And remember to always look for promo codes when shopping online.
Understand how your coupons work and the restrictions on them. Find coupons that you are allowed to double up on. Some stores offer double coupon days which means that on certain days your coupon will be worth twice the face value. Some stores allow a manufacturers coupon and a store coupon to work together on an item.
Look at different stores for deals on the items for which you have coupons. Find out if you are allowed to use coupons on these sale items. This will save you even more money.
If you find an awesome deal and have multiple coupons, buy in bulk! Stock up when you can get the lowest price.
If you want to get the best deals, you might not be able to remain brand loyal. Who knows, you might find something new that you like better.
Remember to shop the sales and only buy what you actually use. Your savings account will thank you.
