What is a credit union anyway?

Welcome to Michigan Community Credit Union's blog! If this is your first time visiting, or you're a new member, here is some basic information about credit unions.

Credit unions put people before profits

Especially young people. Credit unions are not-for-profit cooperatives that exist solely to provide financial services to their members. They offer more than just credit, and they’re not about unions—you can join one. They're like a bank, only better!

Save money with a credit union

A lot of money—depending on where you live, you could save $50,000 or even more over the course of your lifetime just by choosing to deal with a credit union instead of a bank or check casher.

We're here to serve you

If you're not in our area, don't worry, there are over 7,000 great credit unions across the United States!
